After, a sequel film premiered on October 2020 titled “Demon Slater: Kimetsu no Yaiba the movie: Mugen Train” — and was the highest-grossing film of all time in Japan.

December 2020 became the benchmark of Kimetsu no Yaiba.
First, the manga is one of the best-selling manga series of all time, with over 120 million copies (printed and digital) in circulation.
Second, the anime received critical acclaim, numerous awards , and is considered one of the best anime of the 2010s.
Third, it is estimated that the Demon Slayer franchise has generated a total sales of at least Y270 billion (USD2.6 billion) in Japan alone.

The Plot :

The main hero of the story is Tanjiro Kamado. Tanjiro is a young boy, who lives in the forest with his 5 siblings and his mother. They were so poor that Tanjiro sells firewood and also does odd jobs for the villagers every now and then. One day while out making a living, a demon attacked Tanjiro’s family — slaughtering everyone except for one of his younger sister Nezuko that turned into a Demon too. Through some twist and turns in faith, Tanjiro became a Demon Slayer with his sister Nezuko aiding him. His main quest is ridding of a demon named Muzan.

Musings :

I can say that there’s only a few anime that I really like and I can count them with my fingers.

What I like with Demon Slayer is (first) the art. It’s normal for artist to hone their specific art style, and as their manga expands the better (sometimes not) their art becomes. Best example for this is Pokémon, if you check the first time Pikachu came out to Pikachu now there is a massive difference. In general, I like how clean the art is and very reminiscent of Ranma 1/2 and Sailormoon art. It’s very light and bubbly. I also like the colors they use and the retro designs of the accessories (of course its also because of the time line the story is in) in general.

I like Sci-Fi, Horror, Action, and Comedy genres. So the other reason (second) why I like Demon Slayer is because of the genre and the story, I swear when I saw the theatrical trailer (in Japanese) of the anime I was left speechless. I remember thinking to myself how I can’t wait to watch the anime. And when I completely watched all the episodes I started flipping through the online manga.

Last is the character development. To get a clearer and better character development you have to actually read the manga. Why? Because it is better explained there to what happened to each characters and how the character came to be (backstory), how they evolved, and how each of their story (more or less) ended — yes they have a ton of characters and each one is interesting as the next).

In Conclusion, if you are in to horror, action and comedy anime genre then Demon Slayer is for you! I highly suggest for you to watch the original Japanese (Eng sub) cz there are times that they mistranslate things in the English (dub) version. Anime is good, but Manga is better.
